Evaluating my Website

Evaluating my Website

1. Using the brief, explain how you have met its requirements for the Website.
I have 5 original images that I have used on my website which includes images of the persona of my artist, as well as live shots. This reinforces the brand identity as I have made sure to use lots of bright colours as dance music tends to communicate a happy emotion, which they also achieve through the use of bright colours.
I have made an original logo for my artist which displays their name but also includes a sound wave which links to the idea of dance music as it means music and sound, and these shapes are used quite a lot for the genre as a lot of dance artists are DJ's and this shape is usually associated with them.

2. Explain how your webpage seeks to represent your band/artist.
I have used bright colours and shapes as from looking at other dance artists websites I have seen that this is a common theme. This is because the colours and shapes connotate  the happy feeling that dance music portrays. I have also designed the logo in mind of the dance genre as I have used a sound wave which makes people think of music and movement. I have also made sure to match the rest of my website to the colour scheme of my logo as I will be using my logo in my music video, and want them to link together. By using these colours I want my artist to be represented as fun and relatable, whilst also conveying the dance genre conventions.

3. Explain how your webpage seeks to appeal to the target audience?
My target audience which is 16-25 AB would like this website as it is colourful, bu also has links to my artists social media which is a big way that fans interact with artists these days. I also has images which the target audience will like due to the artistic take on them, as well as the easy and accessible nature of the website.

4. Think about each element of your webpage (title, colours etc.), what elements of it need to improve? How will you achieve this?
I think I need to look at the overall layout of the pictures on my second page as they do not flow as well as the ones on my first page. I will achieve this by playing around with the placement of the images on my second page, and will make sure to try many different options.

5. If you have taken original images, are you happy with them? Do you need to retake them? What would you do differently?
I am happy with all of the images on my website as I feel as if they are original and represent the artist really well. This is through the use of colour but also how I set up the images to be taken. If I was to retake one of them I would probably do a different image rather than an eye, but I feel that the fact that my artist doesn't have an identity through the pictures of the eyes, makes the artist more interesting and more relateable for the target audience.
