Statement of Intent

Statement of Intent

How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief?

I am going to use a long distance/ medium distance shot for both of my posters as i feel it will link them together if they are both from the same distance. I will be shooting my photographs for my posters in a forest as I feel it links well with the Fair Trade theme, but also gives my posters some continuity. I feel as if the natural lighting will offer a sense of tradition and authenticity which I may not have been able to achieve with studio lights. the Mise-en-scene of my shots will be very simple, with the model wearing unbranded clothes and standing surrounded by trees. For my second shot i intend to have my model sitting in the branches of a tree as I believe it will offer and interesting shot, rather than just having another picture of her standing and posing. My logo will appear in a corner of the posters, and when i am taking the picture i will try to keep in mind that i will need to be able to clearly see that logo, and preferably have both of them in the same colour. I would like my poster to be eye-catching as I obviously want people to look at it when they walk past. To do this I am going to try to make my background of the forest really bright, but have my model stand out in the foreground. However I want my logo to stand out the most so that passers by will see the brand and want to look at the rest of the poster. The Fair Trade element has been portrayed though the use of nature, and the audience will be able to see this even if they have not heard of the brand before. Also the clothes will not be high fashion, so even if someone has a low income, they may research the brand as they believe the clothes will be affordable. To make sure that I do not get a copyright strike, i will have no items of clothing in my posters that have any brands on them. For the poster to look  authentic, the clothes will also look as if they could be fair trade, using materials such as cotton, so that the brand is well represented.

How do you intend to link your media products to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the digitally convergent nature of your media production?

I will have both of my posters in a forest so that they link together, but also the model I use will be the same so that when people are viewing the posters, they will be able to see that they are part of the same campaign.
