I have taken these pictures of my model, and am going to chose out of these which ones I am going to use on my final product. I do not think i will use any of the pictures on the first line as they do not seem to sell the clothes as well as the other pictures. I am going to use a picture of my model on the tree stump as i feel it represents the fair trade aspect of the clothes. The use of the forest background gives me a more authentic feel to the pictures, as the whole point is that they are close to nature. Lastly I am going to use the image of my model standing with her hands in her pockets near a path surrounded by trees. This is because The background is prominent, yet you still see the image of my model first. This means that a passer by will see the clothes first and then the forest, so that the fair trade aspect is still clear to see, without being over the top.

Statement of Intent

Statement of Intent How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief? I am going to use a long distance/ medium distance shot for both of my posters as i feel it will link them together if they are both from the same distance. I will be shooting my photographs for my posters in a forest as I feel it links well with the Fair Trade theme, but also gives my posters some continuity. I feel as if the natural lighting will offer a sense of tradition and authenticity which I may not have been able to achieve with studio lights. the Mise-en-scene of my shots will be very simple, with the model wearing unbranded clothes and standing surrounded by trees. For my second shot i intend to have my model sitting in the branches of a tree as I believe it will offer and interesting shot, rather than just having another picture of her standing and posing. My logo will appear in a corner of the poster

Poster Ideas

Image
Poster Ideas Pitch- I am going to get my model to stand in a forest doing a range of poses. I am then going to select from the range of photos, which best represents the brand and make them into my poster. My logo will be in one of the corners, and I will decide the colour based on which colour is the most visible.

Clothing posters and Ethical clothing companies

Image
Clothing posters H&M-  The backgrounds are both the same colour so that it links the two posters together, but also the use of the same model also creates a connection between the two advertisements. The dresses that are being modeled are both very bright which makes them prominent, yet the H&M logo in the bottom right contrasts well with the beige coloured background. They also put the price on the posters which suggests they are aiming their clothes at a target audience that has a low income. Topshop- The background of the Topshop adverts is a pink colour which is used to connect them together, as it creates something for viewers to associate them with. Also the Topshop logo is across the middle of the model, which makes it stand out. The models are both posing very casually, so it implies that Topshop has clothes that you can wear no matter the occasion. However, as the prices of the items are not on the poster

Pre-production research- Fair Trade

Image
Pre-production research-Fair Trade This advert shows a tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream which has been knocked over, and inside is an image of a fair trade farmer. This has been done to show that inside each and every tub of Ben & Jerry's is a fair trade product. This has been done to make the buyer want to purchase the product as they know it will be helping the farmers that provide the products used to make the ice cream. The illustrations used here are effective in selling the product as they are very traditional and will make the buyer believe that the product is made to a classic recipe, but also is authentic and worth paying the extra money for. This advert is simplistic, yet is also eye catching as the text is bold and to the point. This may make the consumer feel better when they are buying Starbucks coffee, as they know that the farmers of the coffee beans are being paid fairly for their work. The words used on this
